AAL - Active and Assisted Living
The AAL programme (Active and Assisted Living) aims to develop and implement innovative solutions based on information and communication technologies for the benefit of the elderly.
Projects funded through this programme treat different aspects of the lives of the elderly, such as chronic illness, social integration, mobility and the day-to-day life. Projects that develop services or products aimed at personal development, trainings, culture and access to leisure are also eligible.
Only consortia that are made up of at least 3 organisations from 3 different participating AAL countries can present a project. Consortia should consist of at least a business partner, a SME (that can also be a business partner) and an end user organisation. Research organisations may also participate in AAL projects.
The projects selected receive funding from national funding agencies (Innoviris for the Brussels-Capital Region) and the European Commission.
The next project call will be launched in February 2019.
The projects must meet the eligibility criteria and general conditions imposed by the AAL programme.

the Cosortium has to be composed of at least three entities of at least three Member States of the Initiative

at least one big company, one SME and orginisation of final users have to be part of the Consortium

size of the Consortium: 3 -10 partners

duration of the project : 12 -36 months
Furthermore, in order to be co-financed by Innoviris, the projects should also comply with all of Innoviris' eligibility criteria.
For Brussels research organisations, the financing conditions are as follows.
-
develop all or some of its activities within the territory covered by the Brussels-Capital Region
-
present an innovative RDI project likely to have a favourable impact on employment and/or sustainable development of the Brussels-Capital Region
-
have fulfilled its obligations in the context of previous support initiatives allocated by the Region.
AAL projects must be submitted through the programme website.
Along with the European application, Brussels entities must also submit a regional financing application to Innoviris at the same time. That application must be sent in electronic version to bbibrowska@innoviris.brussels and funding@request@innoviris.brussels. Two paper copies must also be sent to the following address: Beata Bibrowska, International Projects Advisor, Chaussée de Charleroi 110, 1060 Brussels.
Please note: If you do not submit the regional form, your project will be declared inadmissible.

Type of financial intervention
The financial intervention is granted in the form of a grant.
The grant covers 100% of the costs.
